After years of intuition-based product actions resulted in a plateau in customer retention rates, Bitsbox launched a data-driven analysis to combine with their feel for the market. A variety of data science techniques were employed on data from commerce, billing, marketing, support, and survey systems, including faceted data integration, cohort comparison, sentiment clustering, and a detailed statistical analysis comparing high lifetime value customers with typical customers.
