Social entrepreneur Neil Grimmer went through years of turbulent health before realizing he needed to take control of his life.  As a highly successful co-founder of Plum Organics baby food, he found his wellbeing would often take a backseat to his work.  Eventually, this neglect caught up to him in the form of a pre-diabetes diagnoses.

“It was a huge wakeup call for me.”

After receiving the news, Grimmer decided to make some radical changes to his everyday life.  He started building the habit of health.  Waking up earlier, Grimmer would begin the day with exercise, stretching, and a wholesome breakfast.  He met a functional medicine doctor who outlined a personal nutrition plan for him.  Slowly, Grimmer’s health began to flourish.

Spreading the idea

After seeing the power of a committed and customized approach to health, Grimmer wanted to share these benefits with a larger community.  “I thought, ‘Wow, this is powerful stuff,'” recalls Grimmer.  “This should be available to everyone.”  Thus, the idea of Habit Food Personalized LLC emerged.  The company conducts personalized DNA and biochemistry tests, from which they compile nutritional advice and prepared meals.

Grimmer hopes that making the habit of health convenient to access, he can help people become more empowered leaders.  “The most grounded leaders are the ones who have taken inventory of their lives,” he explains, “and have taken proactive steps to get healthy across all of those different levels.”  With this foundation set, we can move forward with energy, confidence, and endurance.
