Netflix Co-Founder/MoviePass CEO’s New Subscription Plan For Movie Tickets

Mitch Lowe, Netflix Co-Founder and MoviePass CEO, has proposed a new movie ticket subscription plan.

MoviePass is a subscription-based movie ticketing service, and CEO Mitch Lowe wants to drop its monthly rate to let people see one showing every day at any theater. He says Netflix and Amazon’s Prime Video aren’t to blame for the decline of the movie theater industry, but rather the high price of tickets. The cost of a ticket has nearly doubled in the last 20 years, now at an average of $8.89 per pass.

With this new strategy, MoviePass hopes to collect data on viewing behaviors, increase theater sales and help bring people, particularly Millennials, back into cinemas.
